Running to the grocery store every day can be a real
pain chore, so I like to try to plan what our family is going to eat each week. I try to plan out 3 complete meals and then we can have leftovers in-between or filler meals if necessary from what is in the pantry.
I recently found Meals Matter a website that helps me with the planning and the grocery list at the same time!
Meals Matter has an online tool to let visitors overseeing their family’s meal and snack choices. Or if you’re stuck for ideas (like I often am!) you can add your own recipes for meals, or choose from their own online database by searching by course (chicken, meat, fish, pork, etc), prep time, food type (Italian, American,etc.)
After you’ve completed your plan for the week, use the list tool to generate your grocery list from your weekly meal plan — compare it to what you already have in your pantry — and voila! You’ve got your grocery list in a flash!
